Thank you for wanting to learn a little about our Squadron. The Sierra Composite Squadron has been continually chartered since June 13, 1948, and we are proud of our services to our communities in the central valley, California, and America over these years.
The Squadron has been known by many names over these past years because when we were first chartered it was simply “Squadron 72” located in Stockton, then it was “Stockton Squadron 72”, and then “Stockton Senior Squadron 72” and then “Stockton Composite Squadron 72”, until today it is the Sierra Composite Squadron 72. So I guess you can say we have been there, done a lot under many names and are still very proud of our service.
We offer you the opportunity to become involved with us, and contribute your talents and expertise. While at the same time you may also refine your leadership and technical skills as we carry out our missions for America. There is a great deal of adventure in our operational missions, and fulfillment working with or being a cadet member. The enjoyment of seeing knowledge discovered while exposing others to the world of aerospace education.
Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is the volunteer Auxiliary of the Air Force with 64,000 adults and youth members nationwide. Members serve the communities through squadron just like ours in performing missions in Aerospace Education, Emergency Services and Cadet Programs.
Our members value integrity, character building, leadership growth, and meeting the needs of those around us. We hope you will take a few moments to look through our website, become familiar with our work in the community, and get to know us better. We’re always looking for new members to strengthen our squadron and our ability to achieve our missions.
The Squadron meetings are held every Tuesday between 6:30 PM and 9:00 PM at the Sharpe’s Depot (DLA) off Roth Road, south of French Camp and North of Lathrop. During the meeting times you may call for adult Officer Information 209-982-2435 or for Cadet Information or 209-9892-2400, you are welcome to also come and visit with us to see what we are all about.
