Great Start

In 2008, Civil Air Patrol instituted a new program to help new Cadets and Officers become better assimilated. In August, Squadron 72 began our first ever Great Start for Cadets program with five new recruits along with a couple of recent recruits. These new cadets learn the history of Civil Air Patrol, basics of drill and ceremonies, Physical Fitness, Moral Leadership, Emergency Services, how to correctly wear the uniform and the progression chart for each promotion. The program is finished after five weeks and concludes with a graduation ceremony. For those cadets who have met the requirement for their first promotion, they will  receive their first stripe and be promoted to Cadet Airman.
